SavedThe Sunday Letter

A place you can read comfortably.

We aim to make the publication useful to readers with different devices, preferences and ways of navigating.

Keyboard navigation

Links, buttons, search, filters and the section drawer can be operated with a keyboard. The drawer keeps focus inside while open and closes with Escape. A skip link at the start of the page leads to the main content.

Reading colours

The light palette uses warm paper with dark text. Dark mode uses an oxblood background with ivory text and contrasting controls. Active states also use underlines, labels or expanded states so colour is not the only signal.

Readable structure

Pages use headings, descriptive links, labelled controls and image descriptions. Collection pages separate editor’s notes, related reading and Pinterest destinations. Display typography is kept separate from the body font.

Motion and changing layouts

Reduced-motion preferences remove decorative transitions. Page layouts adapt to smaller screens, while horizontal department navigation remains scrollable when space is limited.

Continuing to improve

The current edition has been checked in desktop and mobile browsers, but that is not a claim of a complete independent accessibility audit. Our Pinterest profile is a place to find current publication updates and contact options as they become available.
