Beautifully useful. Thoughtfully found. AN INDEPENDENT JOURNAL OF CONSIDERED LIVING
LA MAISONNETHE ART OF CHOOSING WELL.
SavedThe Sunday Letter

The nicest things aren’t always new things.

A well-loved table. Linen softened by years of ordinary use. The cup you reach for without thinking. The things that make a home feel like yours are not always the things you would put on a shopping list.

Attention before addition

Before looking for something new, notice what already makes the day work. The light beside a favourite chair. A bowl that serves several purposes. A small arrangement that saves you the same frustration every morning.

Let a home take its time

There is no obligation to finish a room in a single season. Good proportions, useful materials and space for the people who live there matter more than a complete matching set.

The purpose of an edit

An edit should help you see more clearly, not persuade you to need everything in it. We want LA MAISONNE to be a place where useful discoveries sit alongside reasons to pause, repair or make do.

A slower kind of reading

The journal, collections and Pinterest boards are different ways into the same idea: choosing well is an ongoing practice. You are welcome to take your time.
