The Well-Kept Home
A home that feels like you. Not everyone else.
The quiet beauty of rooms collected over time, rather than decorated all at once.

Start with what is already yours
The most welcoming rooms rarely arrive in a single delivery. They gather slowly: a chair from a family home, a painting brought back from a weekend away, a table that bears the small marks of ordinary life. Before adding anything, look at what you already own. Which pieces make you feel at home? Let those be the beginning.
Make room for living
Arrange the room around what actually happens there. A good reading light belongs beside the chair you sit in. A small table should be close enough to hold a cup. Leave a clear path through the room, and resist filling every corner. Comfort is a practical matter before it is an aesthetic one.
Let materials do the talking
Linen, timber, wool and ceramic bring different textures to a restrained room. There is no need to replace something useful simply because it is made from a different material. Start with the pieces that need replacing anyway, and choose finishes you enjoy touching and can care for.
A room is allowed to take its time
Keep a short list of genuine gaps. Measure before you browse. Look second-hand where it makes sense, and allow the right piece to appear slowly. An unfinished corner is often preferable to a purchase you already know is a compromise. A home should make space for your life, rather than ask you to perform one.
